The Portsmouth Naval Prison closed its doors forever in 1974. However, the moon still makes its visit. This image was taken on August 21st, 2013 from Prescott Park during a Wednesday evening concert intermission. HMS Bounty was built in 1962 for the filming of a remake of the movie “Mutiny on the Bounty.” On October 12th, 2012, Bounty sank off the coast of North Carolina due to rough seas caused by Hurricane Sandy. It always amazes me as to how many different views of the iconic steeple there are from the streets of Portsmouth. This particular view was captured from the corner of State and Pleasant St. which was cause for a “pause and stop” photo-op. Presented on ARTiPLAQ (6 x 13) 65

The Memorial Bridge was built in 1923 in dedication to the soldiers and sailors of World War I.
